Wasim Jaffer backs MS Dhoni’s inclusion in Team India for T20 World Cup

Srinagar: Veteran Wasim Jaffer Thursday asserted that MS Dhoni should get a go in Team India squad for T20 World Cup, given he is fit and in form.

Jaffer, who recently announced retirement after a stellar career, said India can’t look beyond him, citing his abilities behind and in front of the stumps.

In a Tweet, Wasim wrote, “If Dhoni is fit and in form I think we can’t look beyond him as he’ll be an asset behind the stumps and also lower down the order. It’ll take the pressure of keeping off Rahul and India can play Pant as a batsman too if they want a lefty,”

The former Indian skipper hasn’t played for Men in Blue since their exit in the 2019 World Cup semi-final. There has been a debate going on if he gets to play for India again.

Recently, the Indian selectors said if Dhoni performs well in the upcoming IPL, he will be considered for the selection for upcoming T20 World Cup.
