Srinagar , Febuary 17: Former Pakistan skipper and currently Karachi Kings President Wasim Akram has come out and explained what he said to Babar Azam after being roasted by netizens online.
Wasim Akram was seen furious and lashing out at Karachi Kings skipper during last over of the match against Multan Sultans in Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Wednesday.
The reactions from Akram did not go well with netizens and former cricketers with majority terming it unacceptable behaviour from the former captain towards current Pakistan captain.
Now coming out and clearing air over the incident, the 55-year-old has said thar he was surprised to see these reactions and revealed that he only asked Babar about the bowlers’ plans as they were not executing and conceded too many runs at the backend.
He also hailed Babar for trying his best in the match that Kings lost by seven wickets.
“Hello ! Surprised to see reactions on my talking to Babar at the boundary last night. What I was saying was ‘why our bowlers are not bowling yorkers or slower ones offside off’.nothing else,” Wasim Akram Tweeted.
“Babar is a wonderful boy and has tried his best. And what he wants for dinner,” Tweet Added.
Former champions Karachi Kings hav lost eight consecutive matches in PSL 7. They are yet to register a win this season.
