A virus revealed in blood sample have ruled out Pakistan’s young leg spinner Shadab Khan from the upcoming England series and he been replaced by senior leggie Yasir Shah in the team.
As per Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) statement Shadab will receive treatment in the UK.
“Unfortunately it’s not good news. We had a blood test done for Shadab and he has a virus. I’ve spoken to doctors who have advised 4 weeks of rest. Hopefully in 4 weeks he will be better and will be able to play cricket,” Pakistan cricket team chief selector Inzimam ul Haq was quoted as saying.
The Pakistan team will leave for England on Tuesday and play a five match one-day series against the number one ranked home team, starting May 5.
PCB called in senior leg-spinner Yasir Shah as a replacement for Shadab in the one-day series.
“Yasir has been named as replacement for upcoming one-day series and a Twenty20 international against England,” said PCB.
