Raipur, Dec 13: Promising speedster Mudasir Abdullah was brilliant with the ball, taking 6 important wickets, while Arihant Sharma again impressed with the willow and scored an impressive half-century in a drawn match of the ongoing U-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy at Shaheed Veer Narayan International Stadium, Raipur today.
Chasing a target of 259 runs set by Tamil Nadu, J&K batters played sensibly to score 243 runs by losing 8 wickets, thus falling short of just 16 runs from the victory target, so the match ended in a draw.
Earlier, after gaining a first innings lead of 87 runs, Tamil Nadu bundled out for 171 in their second essay to set a target of 259 runs for J&K.
Jammu and Kashmir batters made every effort to chase down the score but missed the target by a whisker.
Arihant Sharma top scored with 67 runs off 64 balls studded with 10 boundaries and one six, while Mohd Zaid, Haadi Ibrahim and Irfan Ahmed contributed 46, 38 and 26 runs to the total respectively.
