Varmul Cup: KCC Delina knockout star-studded Sultan Warriors Baramulla by 17 runs

Baramulla, May 11: In the ongoing Varmul Cup, Edition 5th played at Jehlum Stadium Baramulla, today KCC Delina defeated tournament favourites Sultan Warriors Baramulla by 17 runs to enter next round of the tournament.

Winning the toss, KCC opted to bat first and posted a healthy total of 161/6 on board in allotted 20 overs. Meesum Aijaz played a blistering cameo of unbeaten 31 runs from just 12 balls while as Raqib Hussain also added valuable 31 runs for his team. Asim Bashir scalped 3 wickets for his team Sultans Baramulla.

In response, Sultan Warriors kept loosing wickets at regular intervals courtesy some brilliant bowling from KCC and eventually managed to score just 144/8 in allotted 18 overs and thus falling short of 17 runs. Muntazir Wani and Zubair Dar scored 22 runs each for Sultans. For KCC, Skipper Wajid Ali was the pick of the bowlers as he picked 3 wickets while as Meesum Aijaz also scalped 2 wickets for his team.

Meesum Aijaz was adjudged as player of the match for his all-round performance.
