SRINAGAR: Emerging young left arm pacer Mujtaba Yousuf- student of Higher Secondary school Bijbehara is excited over getting a call-up to get trained in Zonal Cricket Academy, Delhi. The call-up comes on the back of some serious performances with the ball in various age-group tour-nament where cricket pundits ear-marked him as one for the future. Mujtaba-who hails from South Kashmir’s Bijbehara town, has im-pressed one and all with his pace and action which has already seen him get picked for North Zone U-16 team and India U-19 national camp.
His shock exclusion from J&K U-19 team didn’t put the lanky pac-er off as Mujtaba continued to im-prove. The call-up to Zonal Cricket
Academy is certainly a step in direc-tion for overall growth of the pacer.
The Zonal Cricket Academy camp is being conducted at Gurgaon Delhi where all the top U-19 cricketers from North India are being trained in highly systematic environment.
“The camp is something you need in early stages of the career. You learn lot of things and get to know the areas where improve-ment is needed. I am very excited to be part of this camp overseen by some top coaches and trainers,” Mujtaba told Kashmir Observer.
“Here we get to train in a very healthy surroundings with skilled coaches and facilities. We surely are enjoying being here,” he said.
Mujtaba is a part of four-mem-ber batch from j&K taking part in the camp. The other three being Qamraan lqbal, jiyaad Magrey, Vivrant and Aditya Chib.
