Srinagar, September 22: Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Sports and Home Affairs, Nisith Pramanik today felicitated Pencak Silat medallists during the ongoing 3 days 6th State Level Pencak Silat Championship 2021 which is being held at Indoor stadium, Polo ground Srinagar.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that such events not only promote sports but a spirit of sportsmanship and brotherhood among the athletes coming from different districts and states.
The Minister witnessed a demonstration of Pencak Silat displayed by some National and International athletes and also interacted with different participants coming from over 16 districts across Union territory of J&K including Central team of Jammu and Kashmir police .
Principal Secretary Youth Services and Sports, Alok Kumar, Director Youth Services and Sports, Special Secretary, Youth services and sports and the officials of the Pencak Silat Association of J&K were present on the occasion.
