Star pacer Umran Malik has been ruled out of Vijay Hazare Trophy due to an injury while Fazil Rashid is out with sickness but will stay with the team.
Umran hurt his left foot in the first match of Vijay Hazare Trophy against Karnataka on Thursday. After the tests, he was suggested to rest for at least three weeks, hence ruling him out of the one-day tournament.
Wicket-keeper batter Fazil Rashid has fallen ill and hence can’t immediately take part in the upcoming matches. He, however, will remain with the team and upon fully recovering, he will be back on the field.
Left-arm spinner Vanshaj Sharma and wicket-keeper Shivansh Sharma have been called as the replacements for Umran and Fazil.
Both of them were recently part of J&K U-23 team.
