Islam Makhachev (27-1), who set a new record for most lightweight title defenses — surpassing even his mentor Khabib Nurmagomedov — has vacated his belt to move up and challenge Della Maddalena. In the co-main event, Zhang Weili — the dominant force at women’s strawweight — has moved up to challenge Shevchenko for the flyweight crown.
