Rajkot: J&K Women’s team on Tuesday crushed Mizoram by mammoth 123 runs to win their maiden match of the ongoing U-23 Women’s T20 tourney, here at Saurashtra Cricket Ground, Rajkot.
After been defeated in the first five matches, Nadia Chowdhury-led side made a strong comeback against Mizoram. Batting first, J&K posted a huge total of 194 runs, largely due to a fiery knock of 87 runs by Nadia.
Bismah Hassan and Rudrakshi Chib also chipped in with cameos of 34 and 27 runs.
In reply, Mizoram never looked in the game as they kept losing wickets on regular intervals.
It was Henna Kousar who did the damage. She bowled an extra-ordinary spell, scalping 4 wickets while giving away meager 9 runs in her quota of four overs.
It was the first ever victory for J&K in the tournament.
