J&K Under-19 suffered crushing defeat in the opening match of the Under-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy as they were outplayed by Saurashtra at Jaipur on October 5.
In the match, Saurashtra defeated J&K by 90 runs, as JK got bundled out for 114 runs. Chasing a target of 204 runs , J&K batsman were unable to stay in middle as whole team got out for 114. Abdul Samad with 25 and Qamran Iqbal with 20 were highest scorers for them. Later order batsman Mujtaba Yusuf scored 16 and Umran Malik 18.
Earlier J&K bowlers did decent job by keeping Saurashtra total to 204 runs in allotted 50 overs. Saurashtra limped to the total of 204-run total for the loss of 7 wickets as JK bowler’s bowled excellent line and length. Taizeem Tak and Govind Sharma took 2 wickets each for JK while as Mujtaba, Malik and Samad took one each. For Saurashtra, HS Kotak scored 54.
