U-19 Tourney: JKCA makes unwanted change, adds ‘blue eyed’ to the squad

Despite J&K U-19 team’s good reign in the ongoing Cooch Behar Trophy, JKCA on Saturday added an unwanted ‘blue eyed’ player to the squad, giving rise to huge criticism amongst the players.

J&K U-19 Team

Team led by Jiyaad Magrey faced a big defeat against Saurashtra in the first match while made a strong comeback in the following matches, winning both of them.

However, surprisingly JKCA called back the player whose selection was questioned previously as well. He hadn’t touched double figures even twice during the trial matches organised while score duck in the only match, he played in the One-day tourney,
“Seems like JKCA has a strong connection with this boy. They just want him in the team, doesn’t matter what it costs,” a player told KSW.

“It simply means that selectors have some personal relations with the boy while they are playing with the career’s of budding cricketers,” another one said.

It is not for the first time that JKCA has taken questionable decision. Meanwhile, the current administration seems to be enjoying the most as there is nobody in opposition, currently.
