Tripura force a draw after conceding lead against JK

JK had to be satisfied with three points from a drawn encounter, courtesy their first innings lead, after failing to bowl out Tripura in the second essay on the final day of a Ranji Trophy Group C game here.

Having taken a narrow 18-run first innings lead yesterday, JK scored quick runs before declaring their innings at 318 for four, half an hour before lunch today.

With enough time to force a victory, J&K bowlers went in at full blast to pack off half the Tripura side for only 86 at the BKC ground here.

Tripura later slumped to 130 for seven before closing out at 168 for eight in 59 overs to earn a draw and one point.

Teenager Rajat Dey remained unconquered with a defiant unbeaten 53 off 124 balls.
