J&K cricket team captain has termed Mumbai Indians (MI) call-up for the Rasikh Salam as a big thing and is quite hopeful that the lad would make it to the IPL team.
“It is not small thing, rather, it is an achievement to get a call-up for trials of Mumbai Indians. Not everyone gets a call for selection trials by the IPL sides and that shows how tough it is to reach the IPL stage. Someone from the talent spotters of Mumbai Indians was watching the match in Chennai and vouched for Rasikh,” Parvez said.
“He is a talented hardworking young cricketer. There is still long way to go for him and I am sure that with his dedication and work ethic, he will shine. It is also lesson for us that there is a lot of talent, and there is a need to give them opportunity to perform. Rasikh was found only when JKCA conducted tournament at district-level and then called up for talent hunt. There is so much talent hidden at grass root level and JKCA should go and find it by conducting similar activities,” he added.
