The Teams of Manchester Education shined in the Kashmir Basketball League that concluded at Indoor Stadium Srinagar on July 7.
The boys basketball team that participated in the tournament emerged victorious. The team played under the banner of ‘Team Manchester’ and dominated the whole tournament. The members of the team were Wasiq Ashraf, Danish Pandit, Labeeb Bhat, Aukif Khan, Syed Waleed, Uzair Shafi, Mohammed Faris, Faisal Rathore and Junaid Farooq.
Although the team faced a tricky fixture of matches from the start but the team took it as a challenge and outshined every opponent and remained undefeated in the tournament.
Aukif Khan had a magestic tournament as he not only scored the highest number of points for his team but was also the top scorer of the tournament. He was also awarded the MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the tournament.
Manchester Education would also like to congratulate its girls basketball team (Team Manchester) and it members Adeena Wani, Hadiyah Muzaffar, Mehwish Manzoor, Wardah Shah ,Hadeeqa Tariq,Tanzeela Bashir, Badr-ul-Nisa,Taranum Lone, Fallah Aashiq Mattoo who played well throughout the tournament but came short at the final hurdle and were runners up.
The hard work, dedication and team work payed off and made the team Manchester shine with flying colors.
