Srinagar, January 15: Team India has not been formally charged for their DRS outburst in during third Test match at Cape Town and have only been cautioned by the ICC match referee.

The incident took place on the last session of the third day of the Cape Town Test match when South Africa’s captain Dean Elgar was given not out by the TV umpire.

Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was heard saying, “You should find better ways to win, SuperSport”, while vice-captain also joined in: “Whole country playing against eleven guys.”

At the end of the over, skipper Virat Kohli went to the stump mic and added, “Focus on your team as well when they shine the ball… not just the opposition! Trying to catch people all the time. Certainly conducting a fair game here DRS.”

It is being reported ICC match referee Andy Pycroft has told the team management that if such an incident is repeated then players will be sanctioned.

During post match press conference Virat Kohli refused to dwell on the incident and said, “I have no comment to make. I understood what happened on the field and people on the outside don’t know exactly what goes on the field. So for me to try and justify what we did on the field and say ‘we got carried away… If we would have charged up and picked up three wickets there, that could have been probably the moment that could change the game.”
