It would be chance worth grabbing when teenager, Mujtaba Yousuf make his debut for J&K in the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which starts from Feburary 21.
The rookie pacer made his way to the senior team after doing exceedingly well at the U-19 level. He grabbed the limelight by producing back-to-back good performances in the Trial matches which were held to select the team for T20 tourney.
Mujtaba would be the lone left-arm seamer apart from mentor accompanying the team. As J&K has been in search of left-arm pacers, the Anantnag-born cricket would be hoping to make most of this opportunity.
With senior pros like Irfan Pathan, Ram Dayal and Umar Nazir also in the squad, Mujtaba might have to wait a bit to break into the final XI. However, owing to mentor’s recent strategy of preferring young guns, he might well play the very first match.
