For the first time in history, two matches of Jammu and Kashmir senior cricket team will be televised on Star Sports as BCCI has decided to broadcast one half of the matches of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy this year.

J&K being a minnow side, is among the few Indian domestic teams whose match have never been televised before. However, recently, J&K’s first match of Ranji Trophy against Rajasthan was broadcasted online.

Meanwhile, owing to the fact that cricket is more of an emotion than a game in Jammu and Kashmir, fans back at home are excited to see the team on their Television screens.

“It really is a great feeling. We are eagerly waiting to witness these matches live,” Adnan, a cricket fan told KSW.

“We have always dreamt to see our players playing and we hope, they will perform brilliantly,” Imran, another enthusiast said.

The two matches that are set to be broadcasted include one against hosts, Andhra Pradesh, and other with Kerala on 25th and 27th February respectively.

Details of matches to be televised

1. J&K vs Andhra Pradesh, 25 February, 1:30PM live on Star Sports 2.

2. J&K vs Kerala, 27 February, 9:30AM live on Star Sports 2.
