T20 Blast: Shadab Khan involved in nasty clash, taken off field

Srinagar: Pakistan star all-rounder Shadab Khan was involved in a nasty collision during in T20 Vitality Blast debut for Sussex and had to be taken off the field.

In the match Somerset chased down 184 with three balls remaining thanks to Tom Kohler-Cadmore’s blistering knock of 72 from 42 deliveries.

Shadab Khan did not come out to bowl after a nasty clash with Nathan McAndrew as the pair went for a catch. There was 10 minute halt in the game. Nathan continued but Khan had to be taken off the field.

There were concerns over the extent of injury that Shadab has suffered but Sussex official quashed the concerns.

“He is alright. He has a bit of a sore neck and the doctors felt it is best to take him out of the game nervous of concussion,” Sussex head coach Paul Farbrace said after the match.

Injury to Khan meant Sussex had to search for a few extra overs and eventually paid the price as Fynn Hudson-Prentice went for 51 from 2.3 overs. Tymal Mills was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3-28 from his full quota of overs.
