Srinagar: Former India opener Virender Sehwag has praised standin skipper of Mumbai Indian’s Suryakumar Yadav for his knock against KKR.
Suryakumar who had got out for four golden ducks in the previous matches scored a 25-ball 43 to guide MI to a five-wicket win against KKR at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Speaking on Cricbuzz, Sehwag said the way Suryakumar played, it didn’t look like he was out of form at all.
“At one point of time, it was looking as if Suryakumar Yadav has not been out of form. The way he played, he did not look out of form at all against KKR,” said Sehwag.
He went on to heap praise on the MI batting unit, saying they batted strongly since the very start and attacked all the KKR bowlers. MI got off to a fantastic start against KKR, scoring 72 runs in the powerplay.
“Mumbai Indians batted strongly since the very start of their innings. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan attacked all the KKR pacers and didn’t even spare Sunil Narine,” Sehwag added.
