SPFL: Is J&K Bank official brain behind J&K Bank FC’s SHOCK defeat?

Srinagar: The grip is loosening and the bubble is bursting with J&K Bank FC turning out as any other side in the ongoing Srinagar Premier Football League after suffering another shocking defeat on Tuesday at Synthetic Turf TRC Ground, Srinagar, J&K.

After having suffered a stunning defeat against its own Academy side earlier in the tournament, J&K Bank FC on Tuesday suffered another Shock defeat in the ongoing league against a local side.

In the match between , J&K Bank FC and Downtown FC, the later emerged out as winner by two goals to nil. Against all predictions, the outcome was shocking as no one expected such a one sided contest. Though everyone expected a close contest, but the manner in which J&K Bank FC were outplayed was surprising for all.

Soon after the match, chatter surrounding the game shifted totally towards different direction with people know how of the things crediting win of Downtown FC to former J&K Bank FC official.

The J&K Bank official in question was till only few days ago associated with this local football club as head coach and had been associated with its planning, development and strategy as well.

Though the said official was not present on the ground, but his influence and inside knowledge of J&K Bank side was quite visible. The said official was associated with J&K Bank side for many years and know every minute detail of each and every member J&K Bank FC inside out.

“It is obvious that if I am associated with certain team for many years and and same set of players play against my new side then I surely can help my team in a better way. The influence and inside knowledge is very important,” said a known coach.

“The disadvantage with J&K Bank FC to face  a team trained and developed by its former official is that , the J&K Bank FC has been playing with same set of players for years. The said official has seen these players grow, know thier strengths and shortfalls . He must have passed the info …..,” coach said.

The coach said that defeat against Academy side wasnt surprising.

“It is practice everywhere that junior sides of the club give tough competition to senior sides. The juniors want to prove themselves against their senior pro’s. Also the level of coaching is same. However, defeat against the team that is developed and trained by its own former official is shocking,” he said.

Pertinently, J&K Bank management has been employing dual policy regarding its officials and players playing in private leagues.

When it comes to players, J&K Bank management during off season refused to allow its players to play in I-League (Top Competition) for Real Kashmir FC which is J&K’s only I-League team. However, at the same , J&K Bank management allowed its officials to be associated with the Second Division I-League team.

“J&K Bank management seem to have no knowledge of the ground realities. Priority should be to allow players play at higher level during Off-Season and bring laurels for JK Bank and J&K like Danish Farooq did. However, it is not allowing players who have a career and name to make but allowing officials which is absurd. These officials don’t want to work but only avail benefits of Bank,” he said.

Pertinently the J&K Bank official in question, under the patronage of former Chairmain J&K Bank, in the year 2018 was associated with outside J&K football team in second division I-League while at the same time was handling affairs of J&K Bank FC as well. The shocking dual role and questionable practice happened under the patronage of former Chairman.

Meanwhile, defeat or win their is big question mark on the strength of J&K Bank FC. The league is going to be long with around 20 matches to be played. The bench strength is going to be tested. However, J&K Bank FC has no bench strength and the management needs to think about that unless they dont care about the results and prestige.
