
Baramulla, August 05: Shabir and Shakeel Ahmad were the star performers as Singpora Warriors and RPCC Wathoora won matches on Thursday in the ongoing 17th SNW Memorial Cricket Trophy at Chanderhama.
In the first match, NCC Newa after winning the toss opted to bat first. They made paltry 87 runs with Altaf (18) top-scoring. Wani Shabir remained the top wicket-taker with 4 wickets while Shabrooz Malik also picked 3 wickets.
Singhpora Warriors chased down the target in 14.3 overs with 7 wickets in hand. Mudasir (30), Aijaz (29) were the highest run-getters.
Shabir was named man of the match.
In the second game, Sultan Warriors Srinagar posted a total of 160 runs against RPCC Wathoora. Mohsin Ramzan (64) topped the batting charts. On the other side, Shakeel Ahmad picked 3 wickets.
Wathoora comfortably chased the total with 4 wickets in hand and 8 balls to spare. Shakeel Ahmad scored a fifty while Tawseef struck 41 runs.
Shakeel Ahmad for his all-round performance won the man of the match award.
