Srinagar: India new Cricket star, Shubman Gill is looking unstoppable and on Sunday smashed more records on way to his 6th ODI ton in the second ODI against Australia in Indore.
Gill’s century in Indore against Australia made him the highest run-aggregator of ODI history after featuring in the format’s first 35 innings. His hundred, the sixth of his glittering career, took him past former South African batsman Hashim Amla’s ODI accumulation from his initial 35 batting appearances.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam, who racked up 1,758 runs in his first 35 knocks, also slipped to number three in the all-time list courtesy of Gill’s batting blitzkrieg.
Shubman Gill made his international debut with a series in New Zealand back in January 2019. Ever since his induction into the national side, the Punjab-based batting prodigy has featured in 35 ODIs for the ‘Men in Blue’. Serving his nation as an opener in nearly all his ODI appearances, the cricketer has so far minted over 1,900 runs at a prolific average of above 68 at the moment.
List of batters with most ODI runs after first 35 innings:
Shubman Gill 1,914*
Hashim Amla 1,844
Babar Azam 1,758
