Shopian’s Zubair Pandith makes mark in Sports Council Tourney

Srinagar, May 18: Hailing from south Kashmir’s district Shopian, Zubair Pandith has displayed some special performances in the ongoing Spring Buds Cricket Tournament, hinting at the depth of talent Valley posses.

The area usually remains inactive when it comes to sports activities, however, his desires to make it big in cricket hasn’t given up the hope.

Known for making batsmen’s life hard at the wicket, Zubair had last year attended the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association camp held by international star, Irfan Pathan.

The youngster after taking some useful tips at the camp has improved his game, which was well on display in this tournament organised by Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council’s State Cricket Academy.

Zubair first bowled an economical spell of 4-13-2 while bagged man of the match in second for even better figures. He removed three batsmen while gave away paltry nine runs in the match, ensuring his team crosses the line with ease.

With JKCA’s Talent Hunt tourney to follow, Zubair aims to make it through this time around.
