Srinagar, Oct 11: Pakistan senior batsman Shoaib Malik has become the first Pakistani and Asian batsman to score 10,000 runs in T20 cricket. He is overall third to do so in the World
The former Pakistan skipper achieved the feat during the Pakistan’s National T20 Cup in Rawalpindi against Balochistan. He is representing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the competition.
He joins the elite list which only includes Chris Gayle (13296) and Keiron Pollard (10370) of West Indies.
Malik has played 394 T20 matches from 2005-2020, scoring 10027 runs at an average of 37+. He has scored 61 fifties, however, he is yet to register a hundred in this format.
