Watch: Shan Masood hints at Pakistan adopting ‘Bazball’ approach in Test cricket

After sort of a blitz in the latter half of the day on Monday in the first Test against Sri Lanka, Pakistan batter Shan Masood confirmed that the team is trying to increase the scoring rate in Test cricket, hinting at them adopting the England-module popularly called ‘Bazball’.

Pakistan lost early wickets earlier on second day after Lankans put on a good total. But soon batters launched a counter-attack, leaving Sri Lankan bowlers bamboozled.

Pakistan has scored at a triggering run rate of 4.91 in the innings so far despite losing five wickets.

“One of the things lacking with us on not winning Test matches was that we weren’t scoring at such a rate as our opposition. So there has been a concentrated effort; the emphasis was to score runs just to put the opposition under pressure,” Shan Masood said in the press conference after Day 2’s play.
