Shahid Afridi unhappy with fake reporting, says ‘I am the one who keeps Shaheen Afridi away from captaincy’

Srinagar: Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has lashed out at fake reports of him saying that Shaheen Afridi can lead Pakistan better than Babar Azam. The senior Afridi termed these reports baseless.

There have been reports doing round on Social media, claiming that Afridi wants Shaheen to be captain of the team. Shahid while expressing his unhappiness over fake reporting sapd that , instead he is the one who keep Shaheen away from captaincy.

“I was scrolling through my Twitter, and I saw that now they’re running something with my name that Shahid Afridi stated, in my opinion, Shaheen Afridi can lead the team better than Babar Azam, Lahore Qalandars won a PSL trophy under his captaincy,” Afridi clarified said on Samaa TV.

The former all-rounder went on to express his confusion and dissatisfaction regarding how certain statements are being portrayed by the media. 

“I don’t understand why they are saying such things, even though I express my views on Samaa. I share my perspective on Samaa, but they interpret it in their own way. Although I am the only person who keeps Shaheen away from the captaincy,” he concluded.

Reports have also claimed that Shaheen Afridi may assume the role of vice-captain in the ODI and T20I team, replacing Shadab Khan.
