Shaheen Afridi breaks Mitchell Starc, Saqlain Mushtaq’s records

Srinagar: Pakistan left arm pacer Shaheen Afridi has shattered records of Australia star pacer Mitchell Starc and former Pakistan spinner Saqlain Mushtaq on way to his 100th ODI wicket.

Shaheen Shah Afridi became the fastest pacer to 100 ODI wickets, surpassing Starc. Shaheen got to 100 ODI wickets in 51 matches while as Starc had achieved milestone in 52 matches. Kiwi pacer Shane Bond had done it in 54 matches while as Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rehman had also done in 54. Australia legend Brett Lee had achieved milestone in 55 matches.

Meanwhile Shaheen Afridi als become fastest Pakistan bowler to take 100 ODI wickets.

Afridi reached the milestone in 51 matches, overtaking the record Saqlain Mushtaq, who took 53 matches.

Shaheen got his 100th wicket in shape of Bangladesh’s Tanzid Hasan during ongoing World Cup 2023 match at Eden Garden.

Shaheen got is 101th wicket in his second over in shape of Najam ul Hossain Shanto.
