Srinagar: Downtown Heroes FC suffered a crushing 3-1 defeat in a tribute match played under lights at Sheri Kashmir stadium Bandipora on Thursday evening.
In the match played in memory of Late Irshad Ahmad Sofi , SCFA Bandipora clashed with Downtown Heroes FC.
In presence of jam packed crowd, SCFA Bandipora completely outplayed Downtown Heroes FC side. SCFA was able to score three goals in first half and dominated Downtown Heroes FC from the start. In second half Downtown Heroes FC did manage to score one back but that was never enough to comeback in the match.
SCFA won match by 3-1 margin.
It is second humiliating defeat for the high spending and highly backed side of Downtown Heroes FC this week. They were recently knocked out of Industrial Cup Sopore by newly formed side FC1.
Despite spending big and roping in almost all the top footballers of Kashmir and including foreigners in its side, Downtown Heroes FC has failed achieve the results that it would have been hoping for.
Since its inception , Downtown Heroes FC apart from winning couple of local tournaments has failed at every big stage. It is despite the fact that the club has too many advisors in its ranks and directors who have been guiding it on regular basis. While the players it boost are of high quality , but one cant say same for the coaching and management.
