Sarmad Hafeez flags off sports equipment for different districts of the Kashmir division

Srinagar: The Secretary YSS Sarmad Hafeez flagged off vehicles carrying sports equipment to district units and training centers of J&K Sports Council. 

The flag off ceremony took place at Srinagar’s historic Bakshi Stadium early in the morning today.

The District Commissioner Srinagar, Ajaz Asad, Director DYSS and Secretary Sports Council, Nuzhat Gull were also present on the occasion.

During his interaction with the media, Sarmad Hafeez said that the equipment is being dispatched to training centers and academies in North and South parts of Kashmir division and similar exercises shall be carried in the Jammu division.

While referring to the directions of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, he said that the administration is very closely monitoring the facilities put in place for the players across the J&K and we have strict orders to not let players suffer for the want of any facility or the equipment. 

Sarmad Hafeez also said that sports is the best antidote to fight the evil of drugs and J&K Sports Council and DYSS are leaving no stone unturned to curb the menace.

Secretary YSS also indicated that there has been an upsurge in the demand for sports equipment across the UT as the magnitude of the sports events has increased manifold and the number of trainees in coaching centres across the UT has swelled up considerably.

The District Commissioner Srinagar, Ajaz Asad while divulging the details said that the weather is pleasant and almost all fields and stadiums are abuzz with the sports activities and adding fresh equipment at these centers will only boost the sports activities.

The Secretary Sports Council  said that we had directed all the coaches to furnish their demands to further the scope of activities in the Kashmir division. 

Pertinently the equipment distributed to sports facilities included Boxing rink, Volleyball and Football goal posts along with nets, mechanical cricket pitch rollers and interlocking mats etc.
