Santosh Trophy: J&K thrash Himachal Pradesh 4-1


Srinagar: J&K senior football team is on the brink of qualify into the second round of the ongoing 78th National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy 2024-25 after they put on another stellar performance in the tournament.
On Friday, J&K side thrashed Himachal Pradesh by 4-1 goals at GNDU Complex, Punjab. It was second consecutive win for J&K out of two matches played and they have almost booked place on next round. Earlier J&K had defeated Punjab by 1-0 in its first match.

On Friday, against Himachal Pradesh, Huzaif Ahmad scored first goal for J&K in the 22nd minute and then score become 2-0 in the 25th minute courtesy of an own goal by Vishal for Himachal. Aakif Reshi made it 3-0 for J&K in the stoppage time of furst half. At Half Time score was 3-0 in favour of J&K.

In the early minutes of second half, Vishal scored first hoal for Himachal in the 50th minute. In the 72nd minute, Sahil Rashid sealed fate of the match for J&K by scoring fourth goal for J&K.

Adnan Ayub bagged his second player of the match award for his brilliant peformance. J&K will next play Ladakh who on Friday held Punjab to a 1-1 draw.

J&K with two wins have six points while as Ladakh with a win and a draw have four points.
