Srinagar: J&K cruised its way into the second round of the ongoing 78th National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy 2024-25 by thrashing Ladakh by 5-0 goals in the match played at GNDU on Sunday.
In its third and last group.match, J&K were against Ladakh. In the match J&K beat Ladakh by 5-0 goals. Aakif Reshi scored hattrick for J&K while as Hayat Bashir and Dimple Baghat scored one each.It was third win out of three matches for J&K in the group and they have now booked place in second round. Aakif was awarded player of the match award.
Earlier J&K had defeated Punjab in first match by 1-0 while as in second match beat Himachal by 3-0.
Following the conclusion of the group stage, 12 teams progress to the Final Round where they are divided into two groups of six each. The top four teams from each group progress to the quarter-finals, followed by the semi-finals and the final.
