Samiullah Beigh refuses JKCA selector “role”

Srinagar: Former J&K Cricketer Samiullah Beigh has refused J&K Cricket Association’s appointment as JKCA Junior Selection Committee Member.

 JKCA had on July 17 announced the list of senior and junior selection committee members. The senior selection committee members included Sarabjeet Singh as Chairmain while as Dhruv Mahajan and Arshad Bhat as members. The junior selection committee include, Arun Sharma as Chairmain while as Samiullah Beigh, Jagtar Singh and Vikrant Taggar as members.

Meanwhile Samiullah today on July 19 has issued a statement through his official Facebook handle that he isn’t part of the J&K Cricket Association in any capacity.

“Just to inform one and all that I am not associated with J&K Cricket Association in any capacity. Like all previous years, I have very politely recused myself from the role,” post reads.

Samiullah Beigh is a former Indian J&K cricketer who played for Jammu and Kashmir from 2002 to 2017.

A right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium bowler, he has played 61 first class matches for J&K while as 37 List A matches. He has also represented J&K in 23 T20’s .
