LONDON: Mohamed Salah reached another milestone with his 250th goal for Liverpool, inspiring a much-needed 2-0 victory over Aston Villa on Saturday, while Arsenal extended their Premier League lead with a dominant win at Burnley.

Elsewhere, Manchester United were held by Nottingham Forest, and Chelsea edged Tottenham in a tight London derby.

Salah Ends Liverpool’s Slump

After a string of disappointing results, Arne Slot’s Liverpool finally bounced back at Anfield. The breakthrough came in first-half stoppage time when Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez’s poor clearance landed at Salah’s feet. The Egyptian made no mistake, firing into the empty net for his fifth goal of the season and 250th in all competitions for the Reds.

Ryan Gravenberch added a deflected second in the 58th minute to secure Liverpool’s first Premier League win since September 20. The victory lifted them to third place, seven points adrift of leaders Arsenal, ahead of crucial clashes with Real Madrid and Manchester City next week.

Arsenal March Seven Points Clear

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal continued their title charge with a comfortable 2-0 victory at Burnley, extending their winning streak to five league matches and nine in all competitions.

Viktor Gyokeres opened the scoring with a header from Declan Rice’s corner, before Rice himself doubled the lead in the 35th minute. Arsenal’s defensive resilience remains their foundation — having conceded only three league goals in 10 games this season — as they edge closer to ending a 20-year Premier League title drought.

Man United Held by Forest Comeback

At the City Ground, Manchester United saw their hopes of a fourth straight win dashed by a spirited Nottingham Forest comeback in a 2-2 draw.

After Casemiro put United ahead, Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicolo Savona scored within minutes of each other early in the second half to turn the game around. Amad Diallo’s late volley rescued a point for United, marking a year since Ruben Amorim’s appointment as manager.

Forest, now under Sean Dyche following Ange Postecoglou’s dismissal, remain in the relegation zone, four points from safety.

Chelsea Edge Tottenham in London Derby

At Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Joao Pedro’s goal earned Chelsea a narrow 1-0 victory, extending their winning run against Spurs to five straight Premier League matches.

The result leaves Chelsea fifth, level on points with fourth-placed Tottenham, separated only by goal difference.
