Reaction of fans on first home goal was fantastic: David Robertson

Real Kashmir coach David Robertson on Sunday said that the first I-League home is the moment he had been waiting for and it took them four games to see the reaction of fans when they scored first goal on home soil.

“It is great, it is fantastic, and finally we did win it at home. I have been saying it repeatedly that we are playing well and it is the luck that has eluded us. This time we did manage to finish on winning side and score two goals after not being able to do that in previous three home games,” Robertson said.

“With fans coming in huge numbers, I was waiting to see how the fans will react when we will finally score our first goal on home ground. It was fantastic, the atmosphere in TRC was electric at the moment and it is moments like these that make this game beautiful,” he said.

Refusing to accept that his side was under pressure after suffering two home defeats , Real Kashmir’s Scottish coach said, “ I will say it again we were not any kind of pressure. No pressure was there and we don’t want to get carried away with this win. This is excellent win and there is still long way to go. We need to stay focused and move ahead. I-League is good thing to happen for Kashmir football with local players like Khalid doing well and with that motivating youngster to follow football”.

About the strategic changes made by Real Kashmir for the game, he said, “We knew that our physical presence will be an advantage and we wanted to take its full advantage. As I have said it previously we are flexible side with number of players capable of playing different roles. Mason who was doubtful starter was ready before the game and we played him up. We will keep doing things like these and will see how it goes”.

David Robertson was all praise for Indian Arrows and said they played well and their commitment and skills were visible in the game.

“It is a great idea and it will help in the development of the football in India. These are young players but really talented ones who keep on coming to you again and again,” he said.
