Rashid Khan ruled out of Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka first 2 ODI’s 

Srinagar: In a major blow to the Afghanistan cricket team ahead of a series against Sri Lanka star spinner Rashid Khan has been ruled out of first two ODI’s of the series.

This was announced by the Afghanistan Cricket Board that stated “he will remain under full medical observation, and is expected to return for the final ODI on June 7”.

The Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka  three-match series begins on June 2. Just seven days after the ODI series, Afghanistan are scheduled to play a one-off Test against Bangladesh in Chattogram.

Rashid Khan was recently played in the IPL final for Gujarat Titans  which they lost against Chennai Super Kings. Afghanistan star was the tournament’s joint second-highest wicket-taker with 27 strikes.

In Rashid’s absence, Afghanistan will rely on spin duo of Mohammad Nabi and Noor Ahmad.

Noor also had a successful IPL stint for Titans, grabbing 16 wickets from 13 games at an economy of 7.82. However, he has played only one ODI and one T20I for Afghanistan.
