Jammu, February 19: The people of Jammu and Kashmir will be elated to see the first-ever Ranji Trophy knockout game in erstwhile state as heavyweights Karnataka lock horns with the hosts J&K on Thursday at GGM Science College ground, here.

The minnow-termed J&K team has had an unreal tournament so far, registering six outright victories in their way to making it to the quarter-finals, second time since their insertion in Ranji Trophy.

Multiple players have shown up in various games, making them a team, which can turnaround things against any opposition on a given day.

Karnataka, on the other side, is host to bunch of star players, those who have hit the headlines while playing for India and in Indian Premier League.

Undoubtedly, the Karun Nair-led side will enter the match as favourites, however, Parvez Rasool’s men too can spring a surprise.
