Ranji Trophy: Himachal beat JK in last day thriller

Srinagar: Robin Bist played crucial calm inning of unbeaten 52 as Himachal Pradesh earned surprise last day victory over JK in the thrilling Ranji match tie at Ranchi on Tuesday.

After folding out Jk quickly on Tuesday morning, Himachal needed 209 runs for victory. They achieved that for the loss of only five wickets in 44.3 overs. Robin Bist remained unbeaten on 52 from 67 deliveries that included six boundaries. SL Verma played unbeaten knock of 21 from 20 hutting three boundaries. Chopra and Kalsi contributed with 43 and 47 respectively. For Jk, Samiullah picked three wickets while as parvez took one.

Earlier JK’s second inning folded out for 417 runs, setting a target of 209 runs for Himachal. Samiullah played knock of 46 while as all the down order batsmen fell cheaply.ranji-trophy

In the first JK had scored 162 and in reply Himachal had posted 370 getting a first inning lead of 208 runs.

Himachal will earn full points from the match while Jk will get none.
