Kalra while speaking at the sidelines of a Function organised at Vijaypur on the occasion Of National Sports Day Said ,” Journalists n media men especially those who are covering sports events are an important part and parcel of a sportspersons progression..
The sports scribes and their media house deserve all gratitude and thanks for their selfless services for they not only project and recognize the achievements of the sportspersons but also pin – point shortcomings from time to time. The sports stars owe a large part of their name n fame to the media especially those mediamen (both print and electronic) who cover sports in particular.
I would soon appeal and request the Governor Satya Pal Malik (The President of the J&K State Sports Council) and K Vijay Kumar Advisor (Vice President J&K State Sports Council ) to consider instituting a State Sports Award exclusively in recognition of the extra ordinary work being done by dedicated sports journalists, photo and video journalists and media houses that promote sports n sportspersons in the State..
“Sports Coverage is a technical area and it takes a lot of hardwork ,effort and commitment to cover sports spots. I admire and salute the sports scribes of the State who inspite of many challenges have kept the hope,reported inspiring stories of sports heroes and Inspired talented players to become champions.” Kalra added.
