J&K’s latest cricket prodigy, Qamran Iqbal on Wednesday scored a fiery match-winning fifty, helping India ‘B’ cruise Nepal by 40 runs in the ongoing Quadrangular U-19 tourney, here at Lucknow.
After making it to the National team, aggressive Qamran proved his abilities in the very first match by grabbing the man of the match award. He smashed a 56-ball 50 with the help of five fours and two sixes and remained the highest run-getter for his side.
While all the batsmen of India ‘B’ didn’t climb up the 20 run score, Qamran lonely steered them to 161-run total in the tough batting conditions of Ekana International Cricket Stadium B, Lucknow.
His knock was well forefronted by the India ‘B’ bowlers as they managed to bundle Nepal on 121 runs in 41.3 overs.
It was the first match for India ‘B’ in the U-19 Quadrangular series featuring India ‘A’, India ‘B’, Nepal and Afghanistan. They will now face Afghanistan on September 14 at the same venue.
