Punjab to tour J&K for three-match T20 series

The Punjab team is all set to tour Jammu and Kashmir for a three-match T20 series as part of JKCA’s preparatory camp for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, KSW learnt on Friday.

JKCA has probably called up 15 players– who are expected to be part of J&K’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as well– for this series.

The camp will begin on September 23 and the matches will be played at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar.

Fazil Rashid is likely to lead the J&K team that will feature Abdul Samad, Vivrant Sharma and other top players.

Pacer Avinash Sharma, who was last year bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL action, is also expected to be part of the J&K squad. Yudhvir Singh is also likely to make a comeback after the injury.

KSW understands Umran Malik was also going to be part of the J&K squad for this series, however, with Shivam Mavi ruled out of India’s Asian Games squad, he could be his replacement and would travel to China for the event.

All-rounder Nasir Lone after recently attending the NCA emerging all-rounders camp is also expected to be part of J&K squad for this series. Pacer Rasikh Salam too might return to action in this series.

KSW also understands that Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) will send a full-strength Punjab team for this series.
