Proud dad pens a note for son Arjun Tendulkar; Sehwag, Sreesanth rate IPL debut

Srinagar: Proud father legendary Sachin Tendulkar penned a heart warming note after Arjun Tendulkar made his IPL debut gor Mumbai Indians on Sunday in Mumbai against KKR.

Arjun, who has been a part of MI since 2021 finally got the chance to play in the competition.

I “Arjun, today you have taken another important step in your journey as a cricketer. As your father, someone who loves you and is passionate about the game, I know you will continue to give the game the respect it deserves and the game will love you back. (1/2),” Sachin Tendulkar’s emotional Tweet reads.

“You have worked very hard to reach here, and I am sure you will continue to do so. This is the start of a beautiful journey. All the best!,” Tweet further added.

Sachin Tendulkar and his son Arjun Tendulkar became the first father and son to play in Indian Premier League.

Sachin made his debut for MI in the first season of the IPL back in 2008 and played for the side till 2013. Now, Arjun has also made his debut from the same franchise.

Meanwhile former cricketers Virender Sehwag and Sreesanth, were full of praise for Arjun’s bowling with the new ball.

“I was the happiest person when I saw him on the ground. It’s so good to see a legend’s son and it isn’t easy for a player from a legendary family, but he came out with flying colours,” Sreesanth told Star Sports. And I feel he played exceptionally well for his first game. I would have loved to see him get a wicket and go about things. But I am very confident that having a father like Sachin Paaji will help him come good.”

Sehwag, in conversation with Cricbuzz at the end of KKR’s innings, had said: “He was brilliant on his debut”.

The former India opener also wanted to see Arjun hit a six as a winning run for MI, but perhaps that is reserved for another day.
