In the on going Prof. Yousuf Memorial Cricket Tournament at the Islamia College Turf wicket, Govt. Degree College Baramulla defeated Gandhi Memorial College by 21 runs.
After winning the toss Gandhi College elected to field first, GDC Baramulla team Scored 194 Runs in allotted 30 Overs, for them Zubair contributed with 51 Runs in 53 deliveries and Mudasir 38 in 18 deliveries. For Gandhi College, Ishfaq and Imtiyaz took 03 Wickets each.
Chasing a score of 195 Runs Gandhi College fall short of 21 runs from the target. For them lrfan scored 26 Runs and Asif 23 in 22 and 39 deliveries respectively. For GDC Baramulla , Jahangir and Tajamul took 02 wicket each.
Degree College Baramulla won the match by 21 runs securing their place in the finals.
Tajamul of Degree College Baramulla was adjudged the man of the match for his brilliant alround performance. Earlier the Convenor College Sports Committee Prof Shamim Ahmed Shamim and other staff memmbers present on the occassion were introduced to the members and officials of the contesting teams.
The tournament is being organised by the department of physical education Islamia College Srinagar in the memory of late Prof. Mohammad Yousuf ex principal of the college.
