Srinagar, Sept 24: The Kashmir Road MTB cycling championship organised by J&K Sports Development Association was held on Friday, September 24.
The event was held from Duck Park Foreshore Road to Zaberwan Park Boulward Srinagar.


The was held in collaboration with Department of Tourism, Amblin and RED FM Srinagar. It would be sponsored by Elegant Strikers, NITians Career Academy, Springs Buds Institute Budgam, Shahzaib group, CP Advertisers, Posh Enterprises and Kashmir Sports Watch .

Parwez Ahmed of Narbal emerged winner in senior category while as Waheed Ahmed finished second.
Mansoor finished third in senior category while as Faisal and Aamish finished fourth and fifth respectively.


In junior category , Parvaiz Ahmed finished first while as Shabir finished second. Farhan Tariq bagged third place while as Aqeel Sajad and Shahnawaz finished fourth and fifth respectively.
In the event around 90 cyclists from various parts of Kashmir participated .


Director Tourism Kashmir Dr GN Itoo, was chief guest on the occasion and gave away prizes .
Director Tourism on the occasion termed booming trend of cycling in Kashmir as great for the overall development of sports and tourism in Kashmir.
He said that it is not only now cricket and football but cycling and trekking as well which are trending amoung Kashmir youth.


Amoung others present were JKSDA Senior Vice President Rauf Ahmed Tramboo, Technical Director JKSDA Dr Altaf ur Rehman , NITians Career Institute Director Sheikh Mubashir, Principal Spring Buds Shanawaz Qureshi, Director Shahzaib Group, Owner Downtown Heroes Mushtaq Bashir, Director Amblin Hinan Bhat and Director Posh Enterprise’s Shabir Ahmed.


Earlier event was flagged off by JKSDA President Bashir Ahmad Malik and Director Water Sports Bilquis Mir.


It was after long gap that JKSDA resumed its activities and is planning to conduct more such events in coming time. JKSDA is the organisers that was conducting Tour de Kashmir multiple stage cycle event.
