The terrific bowling spell by J&K skipper Parvez Rasool in which he took five wicket haul was not enough as Services posted huge total of 322 runs in the match of Vijay Hazare Trophy at Chennai on October 1.
Services got all out for 322 runs in 49 overs. J&K went into the match on the back of having suffered five consecutive defeats. They made changes to the squad that had lost to Gujarat by 8-wickets. Asif Khan replaced Fazil Rashid while Manzoor Panda, Manik Gupta and Paras Sharma were back in team. Opener Banday was also dropped due to lack of form.
J&K opted to bowl first and it seemed the decision was right. Mohammad Mudhsair gave early breakthrough followed by a double strike by Parvez Rasool that left Services 55/3 in 13.3 overs.
That was only time when JK looked to dominate as after that huge partnership Nakul Sharma and Rajat Paliwal got Services back into game. Paliwal got out after scoring 63, getting LBW out to Irfan Pathan. Nakul in-between completed his Century off 84 balls.
Parvez Rasool took wicket of Nakul after he had scored 123 off 98 balls. J&K skipper took two more wickets but that was too late as Services were set to finish with huge total. Mudhasir took eight wicket of Services inning. Umar Nazir took two wickets in two balls as Services got all out for 322 runs in 49 overs.
It will be massive task for J&K to chase the total as it is their batting that has failed in whole tournament so far.
