Srinagar, July 19: Pakistan opening batsman Abid Ali was struck on helmet while fielding at short leg and had to be taken off the field on the third day of the Pakistan’s 4-Day practice match at Incora County Ground, Derby on Sunday.
As per reports an ambulance was called in as the 32-year-old needed treatment. Abid didn’t suffer from any major injury and was able to sit up on a stretcher. He wass struck by Haider Ali shot.
The report further said that Abid is not feeling any pain and the local medical panel is looking after him. However, he may have to go to the hospital for further checks later.
Abid only managed to score 10 runs in the first innings while playing for PCB Green. He was caught behind by Mohammad Rizwan on the bowling of pacer Sohail Khan.
Meanwhile left-handed batsman Khushdil Shah suffered a fracture in his left thumb and has been ruled out of cricket for three weeks.
In the latest update it is said that Abid has nit suffered any injury but as a precaution will be sitting outside the field.
