Pakistan likely to allow its star players for ILT20

Srinagar: In a major move that is going to benifit Pakistan cricketers , PCB is likely to allow its star players like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi and others for the upcoming edition of UAE’s International League T20 (ILT20).

“The UAE-based T20 league had offered top players from all over the world a whopping USD 450,000 in the first season. Reportedly, the league organizers were willing to offer Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan contracts upto USD 900,000,” a report in Cricket Pakistan said.

The likes of Mohammad Hasnain and Fakhar Zaman were also offered contracts by franchises. Azam Khan was also picked up by the Desert Vipers but wasn’t given No Objection Certificate by the PCB.

However, the latest report said that PCB Chairman Najam Sethi doesn’t hold a very strict stance over the Pakistan players participating in other T20 leagues and also believes that players are also considering forming association to protect their rights.

According to Sethi, PCB and UAE have good relations and on the basis of ‘give and take’, both boards can have negotiations.
