Suresh Raina on Wednesday said that Virat Kohli is Indian skipper only on paper while on ground, MS Dhoni is still doing the job.
“On paper he’s not the captain. On the ground he’s the captain for Virat I think,” the India batsman told PTI.
Raina hasn’t played much international cricket during recent times, owing to his inconsistent form. The left-handed batsman also failed to make most of the IPL, this season.
Meanwhile, having played under Dhoni for many years, not only in Indian team but for Chennai Super Kings in IPL as well, Raina feels MS is ‘captain of captains’.
“His role is still the same. He communicates with the bowlers from behind the stumps, coordinates the field placements.
“He’s the captain of the captains. Virat feels confident when Dhoni is behind the stumps. He has always acknowledged that” He said.
