After Men’s age-group teams, cricket continues to suffer in J&K as senior women players on Wednesday lashed out at selectors, calling the squad nepotism and back-door entry based.

JKCA had announced a 16-member Senior Women’s team for the One-Day tourney on Tuesday and added some surprise names and made some known players suffer.
Disappointed with the selectors approach, some left-out players said that they have been deceived by the JKCA, once again,
“This is not new in JKCA. Most of the times they choose a set of players with no cricket background while rule out the one’s who have already committed themselves to the game,” a player told KSW.
They also claimed that this all goes unnoticed in Women’s cricket,
“There is a lot of corruption and nepotism in Women’s cricket. They do it easily because nobody gives much attention to our cricket, here,” another played said.
Some questionable exclusions from team include a highly hailed all-rounder and other few faces who have contributed to the game previously as well,
“Neglecting such talented players and including players who doesn’t even know how to handle a cricket bat, it’s just terrible. We can guess that how they will perform in this competitive tourney,” a former senior player said.
They further said that a few Ladakh and Valley based players made it to the team out of nowhere. They have no experience of junior level cricket.
