Bandipora, December 09: Kashmir all-rounder, Nasir Lone, on Thursday received a call-up from Mumbai Indians for the trials ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) Auction.
Lone, who hails from north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, had a decent outing with both bat and ball in the U-25 One-Day tourney. He played a few top knocks with the bat and bowled impressive spells with the ball as well, inviting scouts’ attention who were watching those games.
“He will travel to Mumbai on 14th and attend the trials on 15th December,” a source close to him told KSW.
Nasir has been in the scheme of things for quite a while. He has represented J&K at U-19, U-23 and U-25 levels. He also played a solitary game for J&K’s senior team in Vijay Hazare Trophy last year.
Despite good numbers at the junior level, the 24-year-old hasn’t been given enough opportunities at the top. However, this call-up could change his fortunes, if he impresses the selectors.
Meanwhile, earlier, Mumbai Indians had also called another J&K all-rounder, Abid Mushtaq, to the trials.
